Blues Varsity Results

Varsity is over for another year – in both races on Saturday we came away losing the team titles, but this was complemented with some outstanding individual efforts. Cambridge came out and attacked both races with everyone running fast times in heavy conditions. The club has progressed fantastically over the last 8 weeks, but now needs to refocus on what will be a flat and fast course in Leeds in 8 weeks from now.

Mens’ Blues, Varsity 2012

The women’s race set out at a punishing pace, with a relatively young team facing some experienced and developed Tab athletes on the day.

Full Blues were awarded to:
Kate Niehaus
Caitlin Mullarkey
Sophia Saller

Half Blues to:
Joanna Klaptocz
Charlotte Cole
Naomi Webber

The men’s race was especially close, with the two teams only separated by only 4 points, after some heroics in the final half mile of the race. Continuing the established Oxford dominance at the front of the race from previous years, we came home with the first two individuals, who performed with determination and prowess. This wasn’t the result that we set out to achieve, but it did offer encouragement as the club moves forwards to BUCS in Leeds.

Full Blues were awarded to:
Jacob Wiebel
Sean Ledger
Tom Frith
Fabe Downs
Peter Hodkinson

Half Blues to:
Adam Speake
Will Mycroft
Andrew Penney
